Canada Comforts – September 2011 Update
Monday October 24, 2011
Canada Comforts has forwarded us their September 2011 newsletter with details on what they have been working on this summer and information on how you can participate in this worthwhile charity.
This was a picture that was taken by a Vancouver Island Doctor. Every 6 months a medical doctor from the island (most from Victoria, BC) volunteers his or her time and expertise to become the only doctor for the people of Vanuatu. Vanuatu is an island in the South Pacific. This picture shows one of the sweaters that a Doctor took over this summer. The People there are most grateful for the help from Canada.
If you have any unused yarn that would be good for knitting easy care garments for infants, children or adults or for making afghans then we would love to receive it from you. We will play it forward to knitters who from the goodness of heart are knitting wonderful gifts to fill a need in less fortunate communities.
Always in need are baby clothing, toques of all sizes, dishcloths (which get used as washcloths).
The complete newsletter is attached so read more here; Canada Comforts Septermber 2011 Newsletter
Thanks to all of you who are knitting, donating products and yarns. Spread the word…I know there are former knitters who would enjoy to knit for pleasure and charity.
