Cherie Hemmingsen (who happens to be my sister!) is knitting Nativity scenes usingc scraps of yarn that she has accumulated over many years (we won’t say how many!) and found bits from around the world. She even sent me a silk hankie that I spun which she used for some of the Kings. It is hard to see the details but the Kings all have gems or sparkly yarns in their crowns and they hair on these guys is pretty amazing….either whispy yarns or unspun fibers.
She has now made 5 sets, one for each grandchild as a keepsake.
She is featuring one of these collections in the Quadra Island Craft Show. Her main passion is Glass Blowing.
